Long Nguyen

Long was born on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, and escaped with his family soon after the April 1975 fall of Saigon. They eventually settled in the Texas Coastal Bend. He is a compassionate businessman with proven experience in the construction and fishing industries. He grew up playing sports and married his high school sweetheart, Nelda.

In 2022 he was elected as the Precinct 4-4A Commissioner of the Aransas County Navigation District and was sworn into office on January 1, 2023.

In addition to his hard work, simple life and passion for the Rockport-Fulton area, Nguyen wants to continue supporting the area as a popular tourist destination. His focus will be to preserve and maintain the natural environment and revive the maritime industry.

He and Nelda raised three sons and a daughter. Their children have become local entrepreneurs and career specialists, including one who served in the United States Coast Guard.

Nguyen enjoys spending time with family, fishing, volunteering and supporting local community events.
