Jack Wright

Newly elected Commissioner Jack Wright, for Precinct 3 of the Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) in November 2024, brings a profound understanding of Rockport, a distinguished history of community service, and a robust financial background to the ACND Board. Having moved to Rockport in 2001 with Charter Bank, Commissioner Wright enjoyed a successful 32-year career as a community and personal banker. He is recognized for his expertise in advanced accounting principles and leadership in establishing fiscal responsibility.

Jack Wright has a strong record of public service. He served as President of the Aransas County School Board for six years and was a Trustee for an impressive 19 years. During his tenure, he led the Board in its legal efforts against the State of Texas to exempt Aransas County from the burdensome provisions of the Robin Hood financial equity scheme.

Commissioner Wright also brought his expertise to the Aransas County Appraisal Board, where he also served as Chairman. His deep commitment to the community is evident through his active involvement in local organizations, churches, and civic groups, demonstrating a lifelong dedication to enhancing the quality of life for Aransas County residents.
